TA102 LIZARD TAIL ORINOCO
This is one of the burley cigarette varieties that has long been grown in Virginia. The leaves are closely spaced on the stalk and are of medium size. Leaf body is heavy. $3.50 per pack

TA103 GOOSE CREEK RED
This is a one sucker burley variety that cures up a wonderful red color. A good smoking tobacco that works well for blending cigars and cigarettes. $3.50 per pack

TA104 WALKER'S BROADLEAF
This is an older variety that was originated in Virginia. The leaves are closely spaced on the stalk and are wider than most varieties. Provides a large bounty of tobacco in a small space. $3.50 per pack

TA107 BROWN LEAF
This variety originated in Kentucky. It has relatively large leaves of medium body that cures out a deep, rich brown color. $3.50 per pack

TA108 LIZARD TAIL TURTLEFOOT

TA03 MONTE CALME YELLOW:

TA07 HUNGARIAN "SZAMOSI" DARK TOBACCO

TA18 IRANIAN TOBACCO. Tabacum Sherai Iranian

TA02 JASMINE TOBACCO: Sweet scented Nicotiana alata.
A very sweet scented flowering tobacco with pure white trumpet shaped flowers 3-4" long and 1-1/2" wide. Very free flowering. Fall sown seedlings make great pot plants for growing during the winter. TA06 TREE TOBACCO: Nicotiana Glauca.
A graceful tree that grows to 20 ft. with bright trumpet- shaped yellow flowers and striking glaucous-blue foliage. From Argentina. It makes a wonderful tub plant. Can be grown outdoors in warm climates and makes a striking garden specimen. It is highly valued for its chewing, smoking and medicinal uses. It is said to have only trace nicotine. TA08 CHILEAN TOBACCO: Nicotiana Langsdorffi.
A distinctive annual plant that hail from Chile and has odd green 1 1/2" nodding flowers. An interesting species that grows to about 4 ft. The flavor of this tobacco is slightly different than others, and it makes a good blending tobacco. $3.50 per pack 

TA10 INDIAN TOBACCO: Nicotiana Rustica.
A half hardy annual that grows to about 3 ft. and is cultivated worldwide for smoking and nicotine production. Has many yellow flowers that remain open during the day. Can be raised as far north as Maine. $3.50 per pack

A vigorous perennial growing to 5 ft. with large 20" basal leaves and sweet scented drooping white flowers. Try growing this tobacco for mixing purposes. TA16 BURLEY TOBACCO: Nicotiana Tabacum burley var. compact.

TA28 SMALL STALK BLACK MAMMOTH. Nicotiana Tabacum.
This is a deep dark tobacco that gives good weight and supports itself very well. VID010 "CURING AND PROCESSING TOBACCO AT HOME"
This video was produced in England by Alan Daly using his Camcorder. This homemade video shows the average gardener how to collect and dry tobacco for curing. Alan then shows how to make and apply a fermenting solution, and then how to kiln dry the tobacco using The SBE Portable Home Tobacco Kiln. Alan then takes the viewer inside his home and shows how to process the tobacco by removing stems, adding flavor and shredding the tobacco as well as producing a factory grade cigarette. This video answers many of the questions we have received in the past regarding kiln drying. $12.95

VID001 GETTING STARTED: TOBACCO
This video was produced in England by Alan Daly. Alan shot this video at home throughout an entire growing season, the purpose being to educate the average gardener around the world on how to grow their own tobacco at home.

Alan shows a hands on approach to sowing tobacco seeds, transplanting seedlings, and caring for the tobacco plants. Alan also details how to harvest the tobacco leaves when they are mature, how to hang leaves for air curing and how to remove stems from leaves. This video shows the tobacco plant in each stage from seedling to processed tobacco. It gives viewers a first hand look at the many different species of tobaccos that can be raised from seeds supplied by SBE, such as Iranian, Havana, Madole, Burley, etc. Viewers are able to see the tobacco during different stages of drying and curing.

Alan then takes the viewer inside his home and shows how to process the tobacco by removing stems, adding flavor and shredding the tobacco as well as producing a factory grade cigarette.

The secret to great tasting tobacco is in the flavoring. The commercial companies use flavorings to smooth out tobacco, remove harshness and stinging and deliver a mellow flavored tobacco. Now you can do the same at home with our Tobacco Flavorings
. We offer two types of flavorings, Tobacco Enhancers which work to generally smooth out tobacco and remove harsh tones and Top Note Flavors which are absorbed by the tobacco to create a pleasing taste and aroma.
We suggest applying a Flavor Enhancer to all home grown tobacco, allowing it to fully dry and then applying a Top Note Flavor for best results. Applying our flavors is a very simple process:

1. After tobacco has dried and cured properly ( Consult our videos for curing information ), removes stems and shred tobacco into the size you will use when smoking.

2. Place a pound of shredded tobacco into a large open tray and start misting the tobacco with the flavoring while stirring the tobacco thoroughly. 2 ounces of our pre-mixed flavoring will flavor one pound of tobacco.

3. After flavoring has been applied, cover container for 3-4 hours to allow tobacco to fully absorb flavoring, then spread tobacco out on a table or shelf to dry. Stir the tobacco every 4 hours or so to facilitate drying.

4. After 24 hours, tobacco should be ready to use. We recommend sampling a batch to insure that it has dried adequately, if it has not, allow to dry until burns evenly when lit.

Store bought tobacco that has been allowed to dry out and would no longer be smokeable can be given new life simply by adding our flavorings, using the above process.
