Gnomes are very widespread species, known to a number of human races. They are called by different names in different cultures, from the Scandanavian lands , they spread south throughout Europe, Britain, and are fondly being adopted by U.S. families.
  Gnomes consist of a number of different types. The most common is the Forest Gnome who rarely comes into contact with man. The Garden Gnome lives in old gardens and enjoys telling melancoly tales.
Male gnomes always wear a peaked red cap, shirt, pants, either boots or clogs and wear a tool belt of his chosen trade around his waist. Female unmarried gnomes are signified by their green cap. When she marries, the cap is replace by a scarf where she keeps her hair tied up in.
Male gnomes are guardians and caretakers of animal kingdom with the exception being cats.
Gnomes live in hilly meadows and rocky woodlands, preferably in tree trunks. They love practical jokes and love to collect bright colored gems.
