"What about your seed guarantee?" Our garden seeds are guaranteed to be fresh and viable. If a seed variety does not germinate satisfactorily, E-mail us your Name, invoice number and the seed packet number(s) that did not germinate properly, we will rush out replacement seeds immediately, ( please note the germination time on the seed packet if listed), some seeds take months to germinate, make sure you have allowed the proper length of time for germination before requesting replacement seeds. It is not unusual for seeds to take twice as long to germinate as the germination time indicated on the packet.

"What about your home garden products guarantee?" We guarantee that all of our products will be free from defect and will be as pictured and described on our website. If you receive a product that does not meet our guarantee, we will ship a free replacement at no charge to you or refund your money. Please read our Products Guarantees and Return/Refund policies for more detailed explanations as certain conditions do apply.

"What are your home garden products made of?" Most of our outdoor and indoor garden products are constructed out of Alabastrite (polyresin). Alabastrite is a stone-based material which can be intricately molded producing great detail, and will allow paint to adhere. Outdoor products are not painted but may be colored for a particular look. Our indoor fountains are often hand painted. These items may be cleaned by dusting, however, they should not be washed with water as they are painted with water soluble paints. Some of are products are constructed out of Dolomite, a magnesia-rich, sedimentary rock resembling limestone, dolomite is either gray, pink or white in color. Some of our fountains are constructed by fiberglass or a fiberglass/resin mix. See items descriptions for detailed explanation.

Where can I find germination information? New to gardening from seeds? Read my Guide to Successful Seed Germination.
Remember, the most common reasons for seed failure are too much water, too cold, and planted too deep. Seeds are living entities. Each seed packet has basic germination instructions for that particular plant printed on the packet label.

"I want more germination instructions besides what is on the package." Do what I do! Go to your library and do a search for books on that particular plant. I recommend the following books: "The American Horticultural Society's A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants" (excellent book on almost everything including germination, diseases etc), "Sunset's Western Garden Book" (perfect for those of us who live out west. I am sure they offer the same for the rest of the country.), "Rodale's All-New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening". Do an Internet search. Contact your local County Extension Office and ask to speak with a "Master Gardener". They will look up most anything! And lastly, don't forget your local garden center. These are the folks most knowledgeable on your local area and what plants would do well for you in your situation.
For online help, I recommend Google.com. It's the one I turn to!

"I want to pay by postal mail. Why don't you accept credit card payments through the mail?" I do not accept credit card/debit card info through the mail, only through my secured shopping cart online. Postal mail is not the most secured way to send your payment and I do not want the liability of securing your card information in my database. Postal orders are perfect for checks or money order payment and are gladly accepted. Please allow an additional 5 business days for your order to be processed. Correct shipping cost must be included with your order. Incorrect payments will be returned unfulfilled. The easiest way to fill out a postal order is to use the shopping cart system to add your items and get the correct shipping and final total owed. Then you can either print out the order directly from the cart or copy it to our order form. Drop it in the mail and you are done!

"I am concerned about using my credit card online, is your shopping cart secured?" Absolutely! All our credit card and debit orders are processed through PayPal, one of the largest online payment services available. PayPal is owned and operated by Ebay. Their servers are SSL secured and Virtual Seeds is proud to be a "Verified PayPal Vendor". Read more about PayPal and why I chose them as my online payment processor.

Of course, postal orders are always welcomed! you may mail your completed order form and personal check or money order to our address listed on the order form.

Do I need a PayPal Account to pay for my purchases at VirtualSeeds.com? No, you do not need a PayPal account to pay for purchases at virtualseeds.com. Virtual Seeds is a PayPal U.S. Business/Premier merchant so all that is needed is a valid credit card, debit card, or you can even use your bank checking account. PayPal will offer you the option of creating an account, but it is not required for purchases.

Why is my credit card being denied? Since PayPal is a non face-to-face transaction provider, our process for accepting cards is more stringent and complicated. This process helps prevent the use of stolen and unauthorized cards. Since this process is very complex, it does occasionally affect valid cards. The denial of this credit card is not reflective of your credit worthiness. In instances where a good card fails these checks, we suggest you try another card in the system.

Why am I having trouble registering my credit card? There are several reasons why you may be having trouble registering your credit card:

  • Different Addresses - If the address at which you receive your billing statement does not exactly match the address you entered when trying to register that card with PayPal, the card will not register. Check your credit card statement for an exact match, then try registering your credit card with PayPal again.
  • Incorrect Card Verification Number - You may have incorrectly entered your credit card's verification number. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover list the 3-digit verification number on the back of the card and to the right of the card number. American Express lists the 4-digit verification number on the front of the card and to the right of the card number. If a card verification number is not available, please try using a different card. Note: Account holders outside the U.S. will also be required to add a card verification number.
  • If you still have trouble:
Try another card - This card may not be compatible with the PayPal system. You may want to try to pay a different card.
  • Try again later - You may be able to successfully add your credit card if you try again at a later time. Even Paypals servers can get bogged down during peak times.
  • Try an alternate funding source - You can always make a payment using your PayPal account balance or with your bank account.

Can I cancel a payment that I've already sent? You may only cancel a payment if it is unprocessed. (If your payment is completed and you'd like to request a refund, please contact owner@virtualseeds.com.) If your items have not been ordered yet from my distributors, then I can refund your money back through my card processor, PayPal.

How secure are PayPal transactions? PayPal uses the latest technology and proprietary procedures to protect the security of its members transactions. We encourage you to carefully review our Data Security and Encryption page to answer questions about our industry-leading protection policies. https://www./us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/security

How private are PayPal transactions? PayPal is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. When you send or request money using PayPal, the recipient never learns your bank account numbers or credit card numbers. He only sees your email address, date of sign-up, and whether you have completed PayPal's verification process.

"When I click on the Buy button or the View Cart button, nothing happens! Where is my order?" You probably have a pop up blocker on your browser. When you click on the Buy button or the View your Cart button, the shopping cart pops up in a new secured browser window, but your pop up stopper blocks it! To see a popped up window, just hold down your CTRL key when you click on the button. Paypal's shopping cart page will open on top of your browser. Then just reduce it or click on your original page. Then the shopping cart page is underneath and can be viewed at any time to see how your order is progressing.

"How long until my seed order arrives?" Most seed and flag orders arrive within 5-7 business days from date of order. "I have a question and would like to contact you. How do I do that?" The best way is Email. Notice the hyperlink at the bottom of this page. Click on it to leave me an email. Email is checked often throughout the day and evening and I will respond usually right away. Many of my customer are surprised and pleased as to how fast they get a response! You are welcome to call by phone, but I am not always available. However, you are welcomed to call and leave a voice mail for me. Some customers do prefer to speak with a "live" person, especially if they have a question on a seed variety they are interested in. I DO NOT accept credt cards orders by phone. Credit card orders must go through the shopping cart system online. PayPal checks and verifies every credit card purchase to make sure they are valid. This protects both you and me! No, we no longer accept seed orders from out of the U.S. Due to complicated import/export laws from foreign countries, it has become impossible to comply with each country. Home garden decor can be airmailed to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands and Military APO/FPO addresses. for an additional charge. Please email for rate quotes before ordering.

"Do you grow the seeds you offer?" No, this is strictly a retail business and I purchase seeds directly from a large wholesale seed business in Gautier, MS who drop ships your order directly from their warehouse. All federal and state seed laws known are rigidly obeyed and adhered to.
Home and Garden decor are UPS shipped from Hollywood, Ca.

"Do you sell the terminator seeds or genetically modified seeds?" No, genetically altered seeds are generally commercial crops such as cotton, corn, potatoes and soybeans. We do not offer any of those varieties. Rest assured that our seeds are meant for home garden growing. Want to know more about GM and Terminator seeds? Click HERE for free info sheet.

"OUR SAFE SEED PLEDGE" Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our life depends. We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners and consumers who want an alternative, we pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of natural reproductive method and between genera, families or kingdoms poses great biological risks as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties have been insuficiently tested prior to public release. More research and testing is necessary to further assess the potential risks of genetically engineered seeds. Further, we wish to support agricultural progress that leads to healthier soils, genetically diverse agricultural ecosystems and ultimately people and communities.

"Why do you give a seed count for each variety?" Some of the varieties we offer are very expensive for us to purchase or they may be in short supply. In order for us to make our packets available at a reasonable price to you, we sometimes have to send a small number of seeds per packet. We feel that you should know up front what you are going to receive, so you can order appropriately.

I am curious about growing tobacco. Is it legal in the U.S.?" "Yes, the U.S. government allows it's citizens to grow 1/10 of an acre for personal usage. Doesn't sound like much but commercial growers grow between 4,000 and 7,000 plants per acre so conceivable you could grow 400 plants in your plot! One healthy plant can yield up to five ounces of cured tobacco. A pound of cured tobacco can make up to 400 cigarettes. You do the math! For the cost of a couple packages of cigarettes, you can grow enough for a year's supply! And yes, tobacco can be grown in northern states. If you can grow tomatoes, you can grow tobacco. They both require the same growing conditions. They are even in the same genus family. A basic tobacco growing sheet is included with every tobacco order. For tobacco varieties available, please visit Our Tobacco Page.
